Oh, that would be Jack. Yes - he is FINALLY, at nineteen months old, walking!!
To say we are overjoyed and filled with relief is a huge understatement. We have been praying for this since he was twelve months old and the physical therapist told us he had gross motor skill delays as a result of being intubated and on supplemental oxygen for so long.
Now? He is running, pulling lamps down, falling, playing, shrieking, and basically being a typical toddler. Thank God for typical. I had his hair cut a couple of weeks ago, took the boys to the library, and within minutes, he was up and walking around, practically running, after not doing it on his own at all. Sort of a reverse Sampson.

That's so great. My first son didn't crawl, walk, roll or even scoot until 17 months old and his only excuse was way too fat and lazy but it's always a relief once they do it!
That's awesome! Go Jack. Although I can't say I miss that into-everything phase.
Yay Jack! Way to go!
Terrific! I am soooo happy for you. I know that anxiety. And is that *sniff* beautiful red rock behind you (eyes watering up from homesickness)
What a total cutie he is! I love the hiking pic, by the way. I think that would definitely be a framer!
I'm glad this is behind you now. There's no stopping him now, I'm sure! ;)
With the older siblings, I bet he wanted to wait until he knew he could sufficiently run away from them once he got going.
Oh go Jack!!
You know, I had no idea you lived where you lived. I just moved from there 1 1/2 ago.
Small world this blog place
Not only is he walking, but he looks so big and grown up! I can't believe you can still hike with his big-boy-hulking-self strapped to your bag. That's one way of many in which you are a better woman than I am.
That is fantastic - and reassuring for me!
My 17 month old isn't walking yet. He'll take a few isolated steps here and there, and he has been doing this since December 30th. He has yet to 'take off' walking - and that little inner voice of concern is definitely gnawing at me.
Happy days! I am so happy your prayers have been answered.
Yeah Jack!
I love that, "reverse Sampson"
"leaps and bounds" ... well it is Leap Year *wink*
What a happy day! Now he's entering the phase I like to call "all action, no reason." Enjoy it all.
Congrats Jack! And I love that last picture. You're a beautiful woman, and it's clearly passed down to your kids.
If you can catch him then give him a big "high five"!!!
What a sense of relief you all must be feeling...now, the fun really begins!!!
Such happy news!
right on, big dude!! right. on.
Woohoo!! WTG Jack!!
See, now you are in trouble.
Yay! That's awesome news!
Congrats...and get your running shoes on ;)
OMG! That picture of your precious boy just slays me with cuteness!
And now he has a lot of ground to cover - making up for time lost! And what a face!
Yay!
He is just adorable.
Go Jack, go!
Those NICU babies are all tougher in the end, for sure!
YAY for JAck. My son was 16 months or so before he walked so I understand how happy you are!
