Snow Day

The kids are ecstatic, gleefully bouncing about the house like carbonation.

Why are they never this eager to wake on a regular day? ;)

Our poor dog is being readied to strap on her harness and skijorr our field. Only they don't have cross-country skis, so they are sitting in the toboggan and being pulled around. I am only moderately okay with this. Too many trees + a very strong German Shepherd = head injury.

Bob was so excited about the snow last night that he made me come outside while I was getting the kids ready for bed and sit in the toboggan and let Ella pull me around to see how much weight she could haul.

That's right. She can pull 95 pounds.

Shut up.
editor's note: I really do not weigh 95 pounds, people. That was a joke. I am adding this because I generally do not like people who starve themselves into pubescence and I want you all to like me.
My real weight is 100 pounds.

And I am trying to figure out why I thought you lived in Arizona. I must have you mixed up with someone else. Either that, or climate change is truly wreaking havoc with our weather patterns.

S.C. I just emailed you

I think you have the patent on "winter wonderland"! All that and a sleighride? Wow.

Can I just say that the way I had the screen set, I was hating you for a second...Until I scrolled down and saw "shut up". I feel better now :)

Happy Snow Day!

I tried to get our Irish Setters to pull me around the yard as a kid. Each time I would sit in my sled holding the leash as soon as the dog would start to pull she would turn around and look at me like "what are you thinking? I'm a 'setter'. I'm supposed to look pretty and point at things. I am NOT a working breed!"

OMG that's hilarious! And the 95 pound thing got me too - doh!
You may have just inspired me to get a sled and hook my husky to it, although I think you're right about the head injury - better get a helmet, too!

Kids bouncing like carbonation - priceless!

last year we (the royal we because I'm sweet ;) but we all know who the bone head was in this story) put our 101 lb labrador retriever in front of the wooden sleigh with twin 19month olds...yeah you can see where this is going...

Hubby let the reins rip, threw Reno (dog) a ball and let her get at er.

Small medical emergency lets just say. Hemmorhages heal quickly in the snow. And scarves act as neck collars.

So we promised 'US' that it would never never happen again, okay hun-ney???!!!

Hey, I didn't say a word.

um dude. you weigh 95 pounds?

Jen said...

Crazy Mumma: My upper half weighs that much. So I suppose if I were to be amputated anytime soon....I would be a delicate little flower.

Hahaha! We have an 18 month old bouncy black lab, I think he would bounce around so much he'd throw my ass in a snow drift without a second thought if I tried that!

crazymumma said...

Thank goodness. But if your lower half is anywhere as near good looking as your skin then I am terribly jealous....

Damn, 95 pounds? I gotta get me on a diet.

I love snow days...but only the really bad, blizzard snow days and we're all stuck at home with nowhere to be.

100 pounds? Fatty. I only weigh 98. (Oh wait, that's just my ego weight, never mind).

Bipolar cook: I'm on a diet. Trying to get down below my 12 year old. I'm aiming for seventy-five, but I may have to donate a few organs. At least I'll be thin.

I'm hoping that means we'll have some snow when we go on The Polar Express this week!

100 is clearly more acceptable, and thus, I adore you.

Sounds amazing. The visual of your dog makes me giggle. We attempted this with our golden and he lasted an entire 3.4 seconds.

I wish we'd get snow! My kids are dying for it and so am I! All we have is crappy ice.

Are you on vacation? They don't have snow where you come from, do they? Oh and the 95 pound thing? I was about to send you a sandwich and some mac n' cheese!

I had to come back and check - all night, as I stared at the ceiling wishing for sleep, I thought, "95 pounds? Impossible!"

Ah, the pleasures of snow days. I can vouch for you too, on the 100 pounds thing!
