It's that time again! Time where you can ask me what troubles you with your moisturizer, what ails you with your exfoliation routine, and how are you going to smooth out that cellulite in time for your Christmas party (you can't, really, but I have a great temporary solution if anyone is interested).
I'll be checking in sporadically today, so be patient. You ask a question, it will get answered. I just may be at the post office for a while.
Today I thought I'd focus a lot on natural products for your skin, especially things that may be in your kitchen cupboard already, waiting to be smoothed on under your eyes, or feet, or thighs.
So, let's get started, shall we?

I'd almost, just almost, give you my soul if you could help with these dark circles under my eyes. I blogged about it once, bought 3 things that were suggested and well, here I am at your mercy.
Usually I am told lack of moisture is the reason for the most part, I buy what ever they are selling and .... nothing =(
My whole house has wall-to-wall carpet that sucks the life out of my feet until they are so dry and cracked and painful I could dry. I can't make myself wear shoes or socks all the time, I like bare feet. And I try to moisturize them, but they are like the Sahara. Any suggestions? Mine are so bad I am actually too embarassed to get a pedi right now.
And I meant for that to say "I could CRY, not I could DRY." Although that is an ironic typo, considering the problem I'm having.
Crows feet? Character or curable?
Jessica - for this you need to go outside your kitchen. I have the same problem and here's how I fix it:
Bath and Body Works "Heel of Approval" with salycilic acid SMOTHERED on the feet then wrapped in socks. Sleep that way for a week. By day one you'll see improvement. During the day, rub in with shea butter and or olive oil and keep socks on. In a pinch, Neosporin works, and during this flu season, it's not a bad idea.
Nancy - I'll email you, because it's also nothing your kitchen can cure...
Jake Ellie's Mom: I JUST read an article on the growing trend of acupuncture being used to "cure" crow's feet! So there's that option, or Botox or, trust me on this, tape. A friend of mine's grandma scotch taped her wrinkles at night, every night, and had the skin of a baby.
That, combined with tons of water, and constant topical hydration - and I mean constant - and the few you have left are definitely character.
But I should add they just did some study that showed that people's perception of how old a woman was had almost nothing to do with wrinkles and everything to do with evenness of pigmentation....although I am still a wrinkle-wrexic.
Alos I should mention the miracle of organic olive oil.
It cleans (!), softens, does so much.
Take a little, warm it in the microwave, then massage under your eyes. Really. I have even cleansed my face with it.
Okay, how temporary are we talking with the cellulite cure? Heck, who cares! I'm dying to know. Spill!
What great timing!
At 35, for the first time in my life I have had to buy acne products! My skin is now prone to outbreaks on my forehead and chin.
I had been using loreal's daily moisturizer with SPF 15 - and recently started using clean and clear's moisturizer to see if it can help clear up my skin - I can't tell yet if it's making any difference.
I made it through my teens with barely a pimple - I feel like I'm making up for it now!
Take your coffee grounds (the used ones) into your shower and massage into thigh/buttock area.
Caffeine is in almost every cellulite cream out there - from Elizabeth Arden to Estee Lauder.
the grounds exfoliate and get the circulation going, and the caffeine, a vasal constrictor, gives your skin a temporary plumpness. FOR REAL.
I got this one from the Queen, Heloise.
I bought many of the products you suggested for me the last round of this, but I have a couple of other beauty questions:
Do you know a good lipgloss that doesn't get all sticky and gunky after it's on?
And what is your favorite mascara? I absolutely can't get it not to smear under my eyes and make me look like a raccoon. Any tips. It may have something to do with wearing glasses, but I detest the smudged look.
All help appreciated, my favorite beauty queen.
Mrs. G I LOVE and adore Maybelline's waterproof curl defining mascara. I sometimes use the expensive stuff and am never happy with it. I make sure to take it off at night, or my lashes break, but this stuff doesn't flake or smudge.
And I JUST now, as I am heading back out the door and into the car, some Bonnie Bell Lipsmacker in 7Up with some Bobbie Brown lipliner. Truly, some things just never go out of style, and I love that lipgloss more than any other (the super shiny stuff just glops, or is has abrasive sparkles, or some other pesky issue).
Mrs. G you are such a super star, it gives me great pleasure to serve your product needs!
Oh, can I offer my tips, too?
Annie - I've been plagued with adult acne since having kids. I am loving, LOVING, the Murad acne care line - it's the first thing I've tried that actually works.
Mrs. G. - I use Bare Minerals mascara and it does not raccoon me.
Jen - where am I supposed to tape them? Up? Down? Sideways? I'll try it if it keeps me from looking like an old crone.
I LOVE this -Murad is such a great acne product!
I also like antibac by La Roche posay - totally cleared up a nasty case of post-partum acne.
So, the tape. You smooth/stretch out your skin and tape it flat. Does that make sense?
I'm going to try it, and I'll let you know if I start to look younger, or just stickier.
What about generally super super dry skin?
Thanks for all the great tips! I've been looking for a non-clumping mascara for years. I also love Bonnie Bell.
brown spots on my face? most particularly, on the side of my nose. can you fade them? I have tried avon and lancombe. I have tried peroxide.
help!
PM Acca Kappa (you can find them online) has a wonderful whitening cream that they swear is a hit in Japan. I have some, that I got free with an order from them, and it smells wonderful. I would try that, although you know you can zap them away with a CO2 laser. It scabs and oozes for a while, then heals, and viola! No spot.
Nancy - I am emailing you.
Heel of Approval eh? Hmmmm.
