Cue the Singing Angels

For this day I interview a housekeeper. A woman who shalt be paid to scrub my children's toilets. Forsooth, she shall pick up Bob's wet towels, and scrape off the morning's sustenance from the cereal bowls.

I start my part-time job on the 28th, and so any guilt I've ever had over the thought of hiring another woman to clean our home? Gone, baby. Especially since I will be paying her myself. With money I earned. Wee!

Now I must anoint myself for the arrival of my new wife Emelia.

p.s. I'm going to be a financial counselor at the hospital! I train for a week, then just work 16 hours a week after that. I'm so excited - a little bit of social work with a business edge AND I get to wear big girl clothes.

Woohoo. Everyone woman should have a cleaner. In fact I know cleaners who have cleaners.

I should be more excited about the job. But I'm so happy YOU HAVE A CLEANER!

will you were shoes that make clicking sounds as you go down the hall?

I will likely wear clicky shoes the first week, cripple myself after running all over the hospital, and switch to something sensible.

HAH HAH just kidding - of course I am wearing clicky shoes. Welcome, bunions!

I'm envious!
About the housekeeper!
I know you deserve one more than I do - your family is bigger - but I have a SO who loves working on cars, 2 dogs, 2 cats and we live in the country!
Congratulations to the job and big girl clothes, as well!

It sounds perfect. You do know that you'll end up cleaning the house before the housekeeper gets there, don't you?

Hooray for you! A housekeeper and a manageable job! Go, Jen, go.

I'm in the process of cleaning for the holiday and for the arrival of our annual cleaning crew. Oh, to have weekly help.

Oh God, I would love a housecleaner. Do you have to go back to work to get one? Maybe I can fake a parti-time job.

A job, a housewife, big girl clothes!

Toss that beret in the air girl,

Congrats on the job =)

I'm just going to be honest and say I want to cry-I can't imagine anything better that didn't involve sandy beaches and unlimited margaritas. Good luck with the new job!

Very few things are as wonderful as having someone else cleam up your home...even if it does cost $75 bucks.

Good for you, I hope it all goes well :)

Congrat. New job and Emelia. It's a great trade, you get out of the house and she gets a job, too.

Big girl clothes and a housekeeper? I just wept.

you GO, girl. There's nothing better than paying someone else to clean your toilets. Seriously, NOTHING better.

She's not really only charging you $75/week, is she?? she's charging me $80 and my house is smaller! no fair!
I am way, way jealous of the big girl clothes! too bad I can't just strut around in some of them myself---and not actually have to get a job---sorta like someone we know! :-)
