Touche

While lounging poolside at the resort we just returned from with the kids...Important to note that my children attend a school where they are required to wear sun hats outdoors and sun safety is high on everyone's minds...we have a lot of sun and are close to the harmful rays up in the mountains...

[Whining] "Uh! I can't find my goggles."

Me: [splayed on chaise lounge to brown all parts of thighs, since we all know brown thighs are way better than white thighs] "Oh noooo, maybe you should stop whining first, then look in your beach bag."

Child: [shooting me an irritated look] "I may be whining, but at least I'm not a...not a sun user."

Brown thighs are so much better than white thighs--this is very true.

Indeed, but in my case, tanned fat looks less blinding than white.

I love how your oldest daughter takes charge of Jack so you can relax ... lol...or use the sun!

A sun user? How cute.
I'm glad you're blogging-- I was a little concerned that you might be gone for too long and my brain would atrophy.

Smart kids, but the attitude. Should they expect only that nasty chemical self-tan?

You look (tan) relaxed and skinny. I think I need your vacation!

Sun and Pool. Bring them to me now!

Nancy - I had to sit up to take those pictures of Maddie feeding Jack. That was parenting, right?

And Karen (JEM) - tan relaxed and skinny? That is the nicest thing to hear...will you marry me?

Sun user, that's the best. Kids are great.

Enjoy that sun. I am 6 months pregnant, and have no intention of showing my thighs to anybody in the near future, though my husband did say that they don't look any bigger than they did before I got pregnant. I shoulda kissed him right then and there, but he was giving me a massage, so I didn't. :)

I sure like some sun, though.

Brown thighs help the optical illusion of being smaller. DUH!

What kind of generation are we raising here?
Sheesh. KIDS.
Here, stand next to me, my thighs are perma white with varicose accents.

That is so cute. The pictures of the pool and the sunshine look so lovely...and warm. I can't wait to be warm again when I'm outdoors without a coat.

Dear dirty sun user:
Your family looks like a print ad for Old Navy flip-flops. Also? Remind me to send you a picture of Jack's doppelganger wearing that exact same swimsuit.
And I totally agree with you on the thigh thing.

Oh, I wish I was there. But then again. . .I've been known to be a SUN USER. Teehee.

A sun user? That may be my favorite kid-ism YET.

Now THAT looks like a lovely time!

Sun user!

Oh... to be a sun user, too!

I could REALLY use some sun about now.

I'm thinking that "sun user" would look really great on a t-shirt or pin!!!
For my mom and I... "tan fat is much more attractive than white fat" IS on a t-shirt!!
(Thank goodness I can buy "sun in a bottle"!!)

Ouch! Don't blame you though - tan thighs are nicer than pasty ones...
