We celebrated early since Maddie and Bob are leaving for the week to head out to Catalina Island with her class.
So even though we may have felt a little weird hunting for eggs on Easter Vigil, we had a blast. The real part of the holiday for us is the tradition - so if it's a day early, no sweat.
I recommend checking your kids' baskets for poisoned candy. I hear the Easter Bunny is mildly disgruntled these days - the economy and all. I took one for the team and sampled the Reeses Easter Eggs from each basket - just doing my part.

I applaud your efforts. Constant vigilence! You never know where evil will strike next. I recommend double-checking Cadbury cream eggs too.
Don't forget the Cadbury mini-eggs. I'm not even sure we should expose our children to their addictive powers!
Yes, I always make sure that nothing shall pass their lips on Easter that I have not tested. Well, except the Peeps - those are just too sweet for me.
I am also a responsible mother who ensures that my children do not eat poisoned candy.
I plan on eating all the ears off the kids chocolate bunnies. Someone has to do it.
Happy Easter!
I checked too....and because I'm a little obsessive compulsive, I double and triple checked.
Oh thank you so much! I will make sure I sample it all-- I don't want anything to happen to my little cherubs! ;-)
Happy Easter!
The evils of poison candy has [sigh] gone on for years. I recall too, having to sample, several times, candy from their baskets. A mother's duty ... someone has to do it.
Top advice. It's so important to be careful. These poisoned egg scares get worse every year. I'm sure something should be done.. like checking every Lindt Gold Bunny, Milky Bar eggs and Thornton kittens. Can't be too careful.
I love the way you "take one for the team" like that... you're such a good Mom. :)
Happy Easter!
I wish I'd read this sooner. There was a caramel chocolate egg that was just SCREAMING out danger. I should have tasted it. DRAT!
Thank goodness your kids have someone who will put their life on the line, all to keep them safe:-)
What a gorgeous family. I can see why you feel the need to save them from Bunny disgruntle .
They are all getting to be so grown up. I was just looking at photos of yours and mine together at Easter in Georgia.....they have all changed so very much.
